As part of the City’s annual train lighting celebration to mark the start of the holiday season on the first Saturday of December, we are hosting a leisurely 1 mile or 5k trot around Beerbower Park in the center of McCleary. Dress up in your favorite holiday costume or bring jingle bells to help spread the cheer. Prizes will be awarded for best costumes!
For the first 100 registrants, your registration includes a collectable blinking ring. After the trot, stick around for the train lighting ceremony at 6:00 PM,, Santa sightings and pics, cookies and cocoa reception, Christmas Convoy parade, and more…
What is a Fun Run?
A fun run is a stress free, athletic event for participants at any level, on a road or country-side. It can be enjoyed with family, friends, and competitors of all ages.
HAVE FUN!
Costumes, music, and photo ops support the fun, party-theme. MCRC fun runs are organized to raise funds for a community events and activities, and often have sponsors to help cover fees of organizational costs.
The typical fun run is quite different from your classic road race. Distances may vary but MCRC Fun Runs range from 1-mile, 1.7-mile, and 5k depending on the course and event. It not considered a race, however experienced runners can certainly challenge their time and speed on the course.
